Celebratin’ Twinkle’s birthday and other suburbia adventures….
So some bad news from this side of town… apparently everyone and their brother (and their sister and their nephews, cousins, grandparents, etc…) decided that Firebirds was the ONLY place in our area that would possibly serve them dinner tonight. (Grrrr) so yea, that led up to a nice 60 minute wait in an already packed dining/bar area which led to cookinfanatic & The Man deciding that this was just not meant to be tonight 😦 So we then proceeded (and by “we” I really mean “I”) to walk frown faced and pouty to the other end of the mall and hit up Cheesecake Factory — the land of all that is chain restaurant right? Well, you win some you lose some as someone once said. The wait was only 10 minutes there which better suited our fancy, so there we stayed (The Man is a Cheesecake Fct. rookie fyi, shocking right?!). Upon being seated, I immediately began to play with my food (as any mature adult in a disappointed mood would do) and express my grief with our decision to be at the Factory of Cake made of Cheese:
- Take that novel menu made in a spiralized notebook fashion!
Mid-food play incident our waiter comes over to our table to take drink orders and appears somewhat disturbed at my shannigans… or perhaps he was just disturbed by his other table next to us featuring 10 uproarious women drinking sangria celebratin’ their friend “Twinkle’s” birthday and makin him take mutliple pics… I’m just sayin. So, moving on, drinks and bread were served and The Man dug in pirate style “arghhh”
I got nothin on this particular image haha... gotta love him 😉
So while pirate style chowin’ it up on the tasty bread, The Man and I perused the encylopedia that this place has deemed their menu. I mean, I think if you wanted a roasted tennis shoe with ketchup this menu just may have it. But for real ya’ll, they actually do have some decent choices that of which we decided to start with the stuffed mushroom small plate… and before the camera even got close to snappin’ the image these mushrooms had disappeared (say what?!) …. and I think the dining eve began to turn itself right around (U-turn style to the bright side).
Last one standing....
The Man chose Steak Diane (he wishes we were at Firebirds, even his order said that one!) and I the endive/blue cheese/chicken/candied pecan/pear salad. And when the food came I must say these two pirates were quite pleased with the outcome….
Steak Dianne, mashed taters, lots o' mushrooms and sauce
Endive, lettuces, maters, blue cheese, chicken, candied pecans, roasted pears... yeaaaa
Quick snapshot with the salad, ummm apparently the top portion of my head did not deserve any air time tonight….. and pyscho-esque lookin’ silverware holdin, not sure bout that one but watch out haha… kidding guys, kidding.
Wine - check. Salad of yum - check. Crazy knife/fork holding - CHECK! haha what's up w that?
So moral of the story fellow blog readers?? Go with the flow, what’s meant to be will be…. and for us on this very Friday eve, that meant celebratin’ Twinkle’s birthday at the Factory o’ Cheese – and who am I to alter that plan. Til’ tomorrow TGIF and enjoy your nights!!! 🙂 🙂
